Children of Portuguese:
Portuguese nationality is transmitted by the right to blood (ius sanguinis). Being a child of a Portuguese (father and / or mother) who was born in Portugal.

Portuguese woman married spouse before 1981:
Valid for women who married a Portuguese citizen, born in Portugal, whose marriage took place before 01/11/1981.
Spouse or partner married to Portuguese for more than three years.
It applies to foreigners married or cohabiting with Portuguese nationals for more than three years, under conditions similar to those of the spouses, provided that there are no circumstances that are grounds for opposition to the acquisition of nationality. Also valid for women who married a Portuguese citizen, born in Portugal, whose marriage took place before 11/01/1981.

The partner who has cohabited with a Portuguese national for more than three years must first obtain judicial recognition of the de facto union situation. The Brazilian (foreign) judicial sentence recognizing the de facto union situation needs to be reviewed and confirmed by a Portuguese court.

Minor or disabled children.
It applies to the under 18 or incomplete child, the child of a parent who has acquired Portuguese nationality by acquisition, after the birth of the child. On March 1, 2015, the legal diploma that made the 2nd amendment to the Portuguese Nationality Regulation came into force and which enshrined the possibility of acquiring Portuguese nationality, by naturalization, to foreign citizens who prove to be descendants of Sephardic Jews.
They are called Sephardic Jews, Jews descended from the ancient and traditional Jewish communities of the Iberian Peninsula.
The acquisition is a derivative nationality, which only takes effect from the date on which the registration of nationality acquisition at the Central Registry Office is registered.
Therefore, the nationality obtained by acquisition is not transferable to the applicant's children who are of legal age at the time of registration of the acquisition of nationality.
